SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT

Responsible Paving For A Sustainable Future

At City Asphalt, sustainability is at the core of our paving operations. We proudly collaborate with industry production leaders, such as Boral and Downer, to prioritise environmentally responsible practices in asphalt production for all our projects. Our commitment to sustainability is evident in our extensive use of high-recycled-content asphalt mixes, including Boral’s Innovo mix and Downer’s cutting edge Reconophalt.

By integrating these eco-friendly solutions into our projects, we actively contribute to reducing environmental impact, promoting circular economy principles, and ensuring a greener future for the communities we serve.

"As a director at City Asphalt, I pledge to explore every avenue for optimising sustainability in our projects. We will actively seek innovative, eco-friendly solutions to contribute to building a sustainable future for our road network, one asphalt project at a time."

Asphalt Products We Use Contain...

Up To 70% Reclaimed Asphalt

Our engineers consistently explore options to optimise the use of Reclaimed Asphalt Products (RAP) from end-of-life roads in our projects. This reduces the need for new raw materials and minimises the environmental impact of asphalt production for our projects.

Recycled Waste Glass

City Asphalt utilises recycled glass in asphalt mixes for our projects where possible. This diverts the material from landfills, reduces the need for new materials in the asphalt production process, and enhances the reflective properties of our roads.

Recycled Soft Plastics

The incorporation of soft plastics in the asphalt we source for our projects, we divert significant volumes from landfills, thus promoting waste reduction. This practice not only benefits the environment but also enhances the durability and flexibility of the asphalt mixes we use.

Other Recycled Products

We frequently seek diverse recycled products into the asphalt mixes we pave, such as toner from ink cartridges and sand from street sweepings. These efforts contribute to a circular economy, fostering sustainability in our projects and the communities we serve.
